Winstanley Late Night Christmas Shopping 2022

Saffron Walden Initiative is pleased to report this revamped Saffron Walden traditional evening in its 19th year was a huge success, opened by Deputy Mayor Richard Freeman. Locally based musicians, choirs and bands entertained the public whilst they shopped at a variety of Charity and Market stalls, complimented by a variety of food trucks and a bar.
The atmosphere was electric with people dancing around freely, and all stalls reported to have either done well or sold out which was the ultimate goal - helping everyone obtain much needed funds for the harsh times ahead.
William Winstanley’s Christmas story was told and interesting objects were found on the Museum stall. The bucket collection was for the Young Carers to go towards the cost of their 2024 holiday which is organised by Tim Atkinson from Fairycroft House.
Jacqui Portway, Initiative Chairman, would like to thank the many sponsors, volunteers, and her team. Merry Christmas - we are very lucky to live in Saffron Walden.
