2021 Saffron Walden Photography Competition

PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The winners of the ‘Imaging Saffron Walden 2021’ photography competition were awarded their cash prizes and framed certificates by the Mayor, Cllr Richard Porch, on Saturday 20th November 2021. The competition was organised by the Saffron Walden Camera Club and the Saffron Walden Initiative to involve all ages in celebrating our lovely town and surrounding area with images of the landscape, townscape, environment, street scenes and activities.

For the aged 18 and under category the winners were Zach Allen (1st place with “Bollard in the Market Square”), Millie Rowlandson (2nd place with “Finger Post”) and Zander Haigh (3rd place with “The Magic House”).

For the over 18 years category the winners were Sarah Taylor (1st place with “Sir Olive”), Graham Young (2nd place with “St Mary’s Church by Night”) and Alan Harley (3rd place with “The Bowls Club”).

The prizes for those aged 18 and under were £50, £30 & £20 and for those over 18 were £100, £50 & £25. Also, a number of other photographs were commended by the judges who were the Mayor, Cllr Richard Porch, Viv Riley from Saffron Screen and Peter Riding from the Saffron Walden Initiative.

Dominic Davey, Chair of the Camera Club, said: “We were delighted to have received 183 entries from 48 individuals, covering a range of Saffron Walden sights and attractions. All entries are featured on the Camera Club website at http://saffronwaldencc.co.uk/exhibitions
